BOREAS Drone App

Image capture of BOREAS drone inspection software

BOREAS is an advanced wind turbine blade inspection software developed as an Android application that installs directly onto the DJI smart controller. Integrated with the global DJI Enterprise ecosystem, it enables immediate worldwide deployment and automated data collection without requiring any additional hardware.

The system completely eliminates the need for complex, manual pre-flight planning or waypoint setups; instead, the drone executes an autonomous, reactive flight path, utilizing an advanced AI model for automatic blade recognition to dynamically adjust its trajectory and corrections in real time.

To ensure flawless data integrity on every mission, BOREAS utilizes high-precision RTK positioning technology to seamlessly track the drone´s position relative to the wind turbine. All aerial data is subsequently processed directly within our TSR Inspector platform, providing asset managers and engineering teams with a unified blade management hub where they can locate, map, and dimension defects with millimetric precision.

FAQ´s

The following equipment is needed to perform inspections using the BOREAS app:

- Drone: Matrice 300 RTK or Matrice 350 RTK

- Camera: Zenmuse H20, H30, H20T or H30T

- Controller: DJI RC Plus

- RTK Base: D-RTK 2

Using the BOREAS application, between 8-10 turbines can be inspected in a typical workday (8 hours).

The pilot manually positions the drone at the starting point of the blade surface. Once initiated, the BOREAS "auto" mode takes over to handle the surface tracking and image capture automatically. The system performs necessary adjustments, ensuring 100% surface coverage while capturing images.

Yes. To ensure data integrity, operational safety, and an optimal workflow, TSR Wind provides a dedicated certification program that can be completed remotely in just 3 hours. This streamlined training pairs an introductory briefing with an online flight simulation tool. To finalize the certification, our engineers provide on-site supervision and technical support during the initial deployment, ensuring the software is utilized to its full capacity.

No. The software is deployed entirely remotely, requiring no additional hardware or equipment on your side.
