As a pioneering leader in the internal inspection movement, CERBERUS was originally designed in 2018 and has undergone continuous improvements to remain at the cutting edge of the industry. It is a compact crawler robot designed for the remote inspection of wind turbine blade interiors. It navigates complex internal geometries to capture high-definition footage, eliminating the safety risks and inspection limitations associated with human confined space entry.
Equipped with a frontal 360º panoramic camera and dual high-resolution lateral cameras, CERBERUS captures every internal detail under a smart, auto-adjusting LED lighting system. Sensor-driven odometry provides precise location tracking during inspections.
The data collected during internal inspections allows for a comprehensive evaluation of the blade's structural integrity, analyzing the adhesive joints of the leading edge, as well as the web-to-shell and spar-to-shell bonds. Additionally, it facilitates detailed panel inspections to detect potential cracks, layup delaminations, core crushing in sandwich panels, or faults in the lightning protection system (LPS).
