Spanish engineering TSR Wind has developed, in collaboration with one of the major wind turbine manufacturers, a robot to optimize internal blade inspections. Doble objetive: to reduce inspection costs and to minimize technician risks. TSR Wind has been using CERBERUS robot for months to inspect the inside of the blades. These robots are already working in countries such as Mexico, USA, Peru and UK, in addition to Spain. The growing need to review the internal blade condition, has made TSR WIND company develop, a robotic solution for internal blade inspections. The result is the Cerberus robot, which is now in the third improved version (Cerberus 210). It is a tool that allows systematizing and improving the quality of inspections, reducing costs, increasing the inspected blade length and, above all, minimizing the inside blade work, avoiding high risk and complications associated to these confined space inspections.
